{"id":1259,"date":"2025-01-21T05:23:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-21T05:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thebighopeletters.com\/?p=1259"},"modified":"2025-01-15T02:41:19","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T02:41:19","slug":"the-angel-at-my-door","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thebighopeletters.com\/?p=1259","title":{"rendered":"The Angel at my Door"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When I first moved to Pleasant Grove, I brought with me my two daughters and my mother.&nbsp; It was a big step.&nbsp; I had moved into a town where I knew almost no-one.&nbsp; I had purchased this big old home that needed work but I loved it. I had spent many hours dreaming of how to fix up and decorate this home and had so many ideas!&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p><p>I remember one specific day, really wanting to go shopping.&nbsp; It was a Saturday, and I wanted to get out of the house and go shopping.&nbsp; Maybe to a yard sale.&nbsp; Or maybe to the Deseret Industries.&nbsp; I was hoping I might get some ideas on decorating.&nbsp; I needed something at the time but I couldn\u2019t leave my mother who needed my care.&nbsp; You see, my mother had congestive heart disease and was at a stage where she needed constant care. &nbsp; I was homebound.<\/p><p>I was sitting in my front room feeling sorry for myself when there was a knock at my door.&nbsp; I wasn\u2019t expecting anyone and was hesitant to answer.<\/p><p>As I opened the door, there was a lady whom I didn\u2019t know holding a box.&nbsp; I invited her in.&nbsp; She let me know that a few years before, she had come to a yard sale at this house and bought a few things she really liked.&nbsp; This morning, she had made the decision to bring them back to the home, feeling that they just belonged here.<\/p><p>As I opened the box, I was surprised to find the most beautiful copper pots, of all different sizes, looking up at me!&nbsp; I thanked her and asked her if I could pay her back.&nbsp; She then said no, it didn\u2019t cost her much.&nbsp; She smiled at me and she left.<\/p><p>I slouched back in my chair, so grateful for her visit.\u00a0 It really filled a need I had at that moment in my life.\u00a0 This woman had no idea who I was, how I was feeling, or what the desire of my heart was, and yet she had a thought to bring back to this old home copper pots.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><p>Oftentimes we are the miracle in someone else\u2019s life.&nbsp; God uses us in ways that benefit others if we let Him.&nbsp; In this case God was able to use her and she was my blessing that day.<\/p><p>On a side note, these beautiful pots now adorn a cupboard in my kitchen to remind me of the kindness of others.  <\/p><p>God is good.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When I first moved to Pleasant Grove, I brought with me my two daughters and my mother.&nbsp; It was a big step.&nbsp; I had moved into a town where I knew almost no-one.&nbsp; I had purchased this big old home that needed work but I loved it.
