That Darn Cold
Two weeks ago, my husband got sick with a nasty cold. It was not just sniffles. It was full blown fever, chills, heaviness in his chest. He thought he could die. It was that bad. Hey. It happens. We all get sick sometimes. The problem was timing. We had a daughter getting married and it was important that he could show up and support her.
As this cold dragged on, the realization that being there was becoming bleak. With the wedding in two days, we were still waiting for the fever to break, a sign that he was getting better.
The day before the wedding, I had the thought to pray. Not just a prayer, but a healing prayer. I know ultimately that it is God who decides whether to heal or not because He knows best but I had a feeling to pray for healing. So, I prayed. I prayed that he could be better for the wedding and the evening of festivities. I prayed that my daughter’s day would be good. Then, I waited for the miracle.
As Tuesday came and went, that night my husband mentioned how much better he felt. No fever, no drippy nose, hardly any coughing.
The day of the wedding, my husband felt great! We went to the wedding, and celebrated later that afternoon. It was as though he didn’t have a serious cold two days before.
This little miracle was a fingerprint of God! For Him to care about this detail in my life that was so important to me reinforced a God who knows Me. Who loves me.
I am grateful to see His fingerprints in my life. The more I see HIM, the more I can trust that He is there all the time if I just look.
